PCs for the People: A Resource You Should Bookmark
After speaking with Kelly Hodge-Williams a few weeks ago, I’ve felt compelled to get the word out about her organization. Kelly is the Director of Development for a group that is relatively new to Baltimore and also seeking to gain a foothold in Baltimore County: PCs for the People.
I found Kelly as a result of a conversation with Elisabeth Sachs in the County Executive’s Office related to our Portals for Our Partners Project, an effort to build functional websites for our many community association stewardship partners who lack them. The reason I am so impressed by PCs for the People has everything to do with the breadth of their mission. They provide:
- Low-cost, refurbished technology for income-qualified individuals and nonprofits;
- Low-cost internet for income-qualified individuals; and
- Recycling of surplus technology – for anyone
All of these things are vital to the communities that we serve and so important for the sustainability of our environment, especially now. This was just too good to keep to myself, so I’m happy to share and encourage you to check out PCs for the People today!
