Young Photographer Shoots NeighborSpace Sites

Young Photographer Takes a Shot at NeighborSpace Sites

Payton Schreiber-Pan is more than just a senior at Dulaney High School in Timonium, he’s a young man with a talent. Payton is a successful photographer who came recommended by our fellow Baltimore County Green Alliance (BCGA) member Irvine Nature Center. In his previous work, Payton collaborated with Irvine where some of his photography is on display. Additionally, Payton is the son of Dr. Heidi Schreiber-Pan. Heidi is a well-known psychotherapist who runs the Center for Nature Informed Therapy, another BCGA member.

NeighborSpace reached out to Payton to see if he was interested in working with us. The idea excited Payton and after a short discussion, we were able to create a project for him. The project was meant to highlight the natural beauty of three NeighborSpace sites. We chose our three biggest.

Payton sent us his favorite ten photos from each. Click on the site names to check out the photos. Enjoy!

  • Landfall Preserve; an 18-acre forest in Hampton that has seen major Ash tree die-off.

  • Greengate Easements; 21-acres of struggling forest patches in the Greengate neighborhood of Pikesville.

Deer overpopulation at Greengate Easements prevents the growth of a new generation of trees and plants

  • Volz Neighborhood Park; a 16-acre fern-filled forest with a recently added trail.

Payton’s work is very important in telling the story of our parks. This will be part of a bigger effort to highlight each of our sites and what they represent.
