Introducing Two New Board Members!

NeighborSpace is excited to welcome two new Board members!

Nancy Goldring and Lance Dennis are both valued community partners who bring a wealth of experience to the team. Please read on for a brief introduction, and we invite you to join us at a future event to meet Nancy and Lance in person!

Nancy Goldring

I am a seventh generation Towsonite. We bought our home about 15 years ago at the end of Pennsylvania Avenue, the very street on which I was raised. A representative from St. Ambrose walked us around the property and told us the green thatch of land next door belonged to Neighbor Care which we thought must have been a nursing home nearby. A few years passed and we started asking around about how to reach the owner of the property, and our journey with NeighborSpace began. After many years as a stewardship partner, participating on the NeighborSpace Board is a wonderful opportunity to grow in my understanding of the impact of greenspace, especially on marginalized communities. I am hopeful that my work as an advocate for the preservation of greenspace in the Historic East Towson community will assist in forwarding the NeighborSpace mission. Thank you to the Board of NeighborSpace for the invitation to partner in this great work.

Lance Dennis (Treasurer) & Ryker

Hello, my name is Lance Dennis. I currently work as a procurement and sales manager in Millersville, MD for a company that manufactures security systems specializing in nuclear power plants. My partner Steven and I have 3 dogs: Ryker, Channah, and Corduroy. I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, amusement parks, fixing things in the garage, and enjoying our cabin in West Virginia. I have experience in business, real-estate, and serve as the President of Potomac Island Ridge Association, and as the Treasurer of Tollgate Action Group (TAG). Recently Phyllis gave a presentation at our TAG meeting about NeighborSpace. Then on Earth Day, I participated in a trash pickup at Tollgate-Wyndham where I learned more about the mission of NeighborSpace. I am excited to join the Board and work on bringing new ideas to expand the footprint.

I feel protecting the environment and greenspace is very important. Preserving areas that people can go to enjoy nature and its beauty, that is what community is all about. We need to start by keeping them free of trash, harmful chemicals, and over development. These are the things we have control over to improve our communities. I believe if you want to keep them beautiful, you must get involved and be active. I appreciate the opportunity to join the NeighborSpace mission and to work with this great organization!
