The NeighborSpace Annual Report FY24 Is Here!

Dear Friend of NeighborSpace,

We are well into the 2025 fiscal year at this point but I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the past year. FY24 was a whirlwind of projects, events and gatherings!

NeighborSpace made significant progress last year on long-term projects such as the construction of the Bear Creek Heritage Trail and the upkeep of Adelaide Bentley Park. NeighborSpace also embarked on new projects, including assisting with community climate resilience in Turner Station, Dundalk, and activities to highlight the history of Baltimore County’s older neighborhoods. Throughout the year, the organization made renewed efforts to grow its impact by conserving additional sites and expanding programming to increase site use and grow stewardship capacity. We hosted more than 35 events and volunteers contributed over 2,000 hours of work! You can find a snapshot of these activities in NeighborSpace’s full Annual Report.

This fiscal year, NeighborSpace staff and Board members have already been working hard to continue to move the organization toward its 5-year goals. This includes enhancements such as performing updated and more detailed site assessments, developing a more structured volunteer program, and drawing up a robust strategic conservation plan. New initiatives include our Neighbors for Native Plants course, a community-led historic tour of Woodlawn, riparian forest buffer restoration, the installation of new and expanded pollinator habitat, and more.

A small organization like NeighborSpace can only have a big impact with strong support from its stakeholders. Donations from individuals like you allow NeighborSpace to build relationships with the land we protect and the people who care for it. These relationships are central to our work and crucial to safeguarding green space for future generations. If you’ve enjoyed learning about NeighborSpace’s work, please consider becoming a member by making a donation.

As always, I welcome your questions and suggestions. I hope to see you at a NeighborSpace park soon!
