Turner Station Community Flooding Survey Report

NeighborSpace is proud to be a partner on the Community Climate Resilience Project in Turner Station. This initiative, funded by a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Coastal Resilience Fund grant, is a collaboration among Baltimore County, Turner Station Conservation Teams, NeighborSpace, The Nature Conservancy, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and the Greater Baltimore Wilderness Coalition.

Since joining the project last October, NeighborSpace has worked closely with Turner Station Conservation Teams, Inc. on community outreach efforts, including a survey to assess the environmental, economic, social, and health impacts of flooding. Together with local leaders and youth, we hosted 20 outreach events and canvassed over 1,200 homes.

NeighborSpace extends its gratitude to the many Turner Station residents who completed the survey, shared flooding photos, and supported canvassing efforts. The survey results and photos were used  by Baltimore County to calibrate its new flood model of Turner Station and will inform green and gray infrastructure recommendations. These recommendations will be combined to develop a Climate Resilience Roadmap for Turner Station in Eastern Baltimore County.

The survey results, published in September, are available to the community on our website: https://www.neighborspacebaltimorecounty.org/…/turner…/
